Pros and Cons of Bamboo Sheets

Pros and Cons of Bamboo Sheets 1

I’ve previously covered the pros and cons of microfiber sheets, and have had suggestions from a few of you asking for the pros and cons of bamboo sheets, so here they are!

Bamboo sheets can be found anywhere these days, but what are the benefits of using these sheets, and are they any better than normal bed sheets?

There are many reasons for using bamboo sheets, and I’ll be outlining them in this post, I hope you enjoy 🙂

The Pros

Bamboo sheets are known for being one of the softest sheets on the market, and this is a great benefit for anyone who wants a little more comfort when they sleep.

Hypoallergenic Properties

Bamboo sheets have natural hypoallergenic properties, which means that they can be used by people with allergies. If you suffer from allergies bamboo sheets may be the best choice for you.

Bamboo sheets are very durable. This is something that is a must in bedsheets, as they will have to endure the tosses and turns that happen when we sleep

Antibacterial properties

It’s no question that our beds can become breeding grounds for bacteria, that’s why bamboo sheets are great for anyone that wants a little more security in knowing that their bed is nice and clean.

Bamboo is a sustainable plant, this means that the manufacturing of these sheets does not hurt the environment, and we can continue to create bamboo bed sheets for a very long time.

Deodorizing Properties

Bamboo sheets have a rare natural feature, they can leave you and your bed smelling nice and clean, for much longer than normal sheets. Wouldn’t it be great to go to bed and wake up smelling nice and clean 🙂

Thermal Control

Many claim that bamboo sheets can help in keeping our body temperature at the perfect point. If you are getting too hot in bed, the sheets can disperse your body heat to cool you down, and if you are getting too cold, the sheets can absorb your body heat and reflect it back, warming you up.

Moisture Reducing

Bamboo sheets can reduce the amount of moisture that gets let out of your body, meaning that allergies do not flare up as much as they would with other sheets.

The Cons

Bamboo sheets are known to be quite a bit more expensive than normal cotton bed sheets. If you do not care about spending a little more money to get some more quality, then bamboo sheets are the way to go. Another reason that they are pricier than cotton sheets is due to the eco-friendly methods they create the sheets with. As this method takes longer to make than normal sheets, the price is increased.

Bamboo sheets wrinkle easily. This is not a problem if you do not care about how your bed looks, but if you do, the wrinkly look can put some people off. The reason for the sheets wrinkling so much is due to their moisture reducing properties, as they can get quite dry.

My Two Cents

I really enjoy Bamboo sheets, and have them on my bed currently. I think that if you want to have a little more comfort and enjoyment in sleeping, bamboo sheets are ideal for you.

I don’t really mind how my bed looks, as I mainly use it for sleeping and lounging, but I understand that some people can be put off by the wrinkling of bamboo sheets. There are some measures that you can go through to ensure this does not happen, and I’ll be covering them in another article coming soon, but if you would like to read up on how you can prevent wrinkling and care for your bamboo sheets, you can read this article by Ettitude on how to care for your bamboo sheets.

I really hope that you enjoyed reading this post. If you have any suggestions or comments that you would like to post, please do not hesitate to do so, in the comment field beneath this post.

I’ll be seeing you soon 🙂
